The deepest human defeat suffered by human beings is constituted by the difference between what one was capable of becoming and what one has in fact become.
The eternal fight of what could have been defines my existance today. As I walk on an unknown path I often look back to the day it all went wrong and I find myself staring into darkness. Few of us can really define the moment of choice when we faltered. But to quote Madame de Stael a French Revolutionary
"The mystery of existence is the connection between our faults and our misfortunes."
If things were different I would be different though not glad of the way I turned out but content that it didnt go worse. To change with times and adapt is human.
As i walk along I try to adapt to a life that came about due to my choices. Its our choices we make each moment of the day that make us. Its the change we all go through each moment. The choice of how to change is ours and not change itself; change alone is eternal, perpetual, immortal.
I look towards the future with pasts sorrow in my heart and a new hope in my eyes.
A step taken is a battle won...
So to look back and say I lost, I faltered might not be correct but what may be is that I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.
Dream about a future with a cherished past....
